FTW (“for the win” in SMS speak) for eBay. On the 14th of July, eBay scored a major legal victory when a Federal judge absolved it of taking more steps to identify fake Tiffany jewelry sold on its website. The judge held that brand owners are ultimately responsible for protecting their trademarks.

An end to parking frustrations may be in sight. San Francisco is launching an ambitious, US$23 million project to install sensors on 6,000 of the city’s 24,000 parking spots that will alert drivers to open spaces. These open spaces will be displayed on street signs or smart phones as well as through the www.gottapark.com website where you can even reserve your space in advance.

One word sums up the announcements made by the Big Three gaming companies at the E3 Media and Business Summit this week: more. Microsoft, Nintendo and Sony all announced plans for more games, sequels, exclusives, connectivity and more ways to use their systems for things other than gaming. In what may have been E3's best-kept secret, audible gasps were heard from the audience when Nintendo announced that Rockstar Games was developing a "Grand Theft Auto" title for the portable Nintendo DS system.
