Dear Editor

I am researching ITIL and ISO 20000. I have one question. If you don't mind, how did you implement the CMDB - through purchased software like Remedy, through an internally developed tool or through plain Excel sheets?

Dear Reader

Thanks for your interest. When implementing a configuration management database module (CMDB) within Accenture's Infrastructure Outsourcing practice, the development team leveraged the BMC CMDB solution and incorporated some other automated and manual processes developed by Accenture. This unique combination provides a solution compliant with ITIL industry standards that provides unique value to Accenture clients.

Dear Editor

Regarding Accenture being the #1 BPO company of the year: Congratulations to all! That's what we call "Best Performance Delivered."

Dear Reader

Thanks for the feedback. Glad you liked the article - and the recognition that Accenture has received as the #1 global outsourcing company from the International Association of Outsourcing Professionals.

Dear Editor

Thanks to the editor for your article on US graduating college students' thoughts on job prospects. But what about the students in India and what about the declining carrer options of Indian graduates? It would be better if you can give those details also.

Dear Reader

The study of students graduating from college is part of a global study that includes students from the United States, the United Kingdom, France, Germany, Brazil, Russia, India and China. Look for more information on other countries in coming months on the country-specific newsroom pages of accenture.com.

Dear Editor

I enjoyed the article on the electronic personal performance coach but wonder what impact it will have on daily life. I can imagine guys being coached with great pick-up lines from their coaches, and waiting for the reply from their object of desire’s coach who is checking out the guy’s body language for sincerity through a handy videocam. Do you think that’s possible?

Dear Reader

Sure it’s possible, and I’m sure the first thing these coaches will advise is to “act natural!” But in a more serious vein, television presenters and newsreaders have been taking advice from producers on their earpieces for many years without viewers suspecting it. With a little practice I’m sure these coaches will be able to dispense their wisdom in quite subtle ways.

Dear Editor

I read the blog on enterprise performance management and was struck by the observation that in Nathan Rothschild’s time, carrier pigeons were cutting-edge communications technology. I would like to see an article that doesn’t try to look forward at new technologies but rather predict which technologies are about to become obsolete.

Dear Reader

Great idea, we’ll suggest it to one of the Accenture experts.
